man.. the way the media reports on studio closures is really disgusting.

With Telltale people so upset about walking dead and don't care that 250 people: didn't get severance, now no longer have health insurance, a good chunk are contractors which means they're not eligible for unemployment and some of them started last week at the company.

when gazillion closed the focus was on: what to do with your leftover Marvel Heroes orbs and not: 100+ people laid off and the studio is not paying out PTO or severence and locked them out of the building so they couldn't retrieve personal items

Capcom Vancouver was all about: Welp, guess no more Dead Rising games..

And the infamous EA parking lot layoff was: HAHA SUCK IT MAKERS OF LOOTBOXES.

People sometimes forget there are actual human beings working at these places.

i think its less they forget and more they don't care honestly.

i hope every person badgering the former workers for not "finishing the walking dead on their own, for free, because they love it" gets hit by a bus.

These people lost their jobs. They were working hard on that game, and they lost their jobs due to no fault of their own.

I'm 100% sure no one in the game industry knows how anything in the game industry works. Like each individual worker doesn't own the rights to the IPs they worked on. That's.. not how copyright works.

i feel so bad for Telltale because it's in San Ramon which is.. sorta close to other stuff (closest to 2K marin) if they don't have cars there's no way for them to get down to silicon valley to work anywhere else.

the distance from say.. Sledgehammer games (the most northern game company that isn't in San Francisco) to Telltale is.. man... 56 miles says google. But at 7 am on a typical tuesday it says: 2 hours 46 minutes.

no public transit goes past san francisco. I have no idea how they'd get anywhere without driving.

God, yeah, I feel bad for the workers. That was my main thought when I heard about Telltale closing, not "oh noes what about TWDG??! "
