papermint tiger
i am engaged in a color debate
oh?
papermint tiger
i guess not so much a debate as we're just talking about the truth or lack of truth this image reflects
that men can see/know less colors?
papermint tiger
i think it's more that they don't care about color shades... and i don't either
papermint tiger
if something's red, it's red. I don't care if it's technically brick red or w/e
papermint tiger
though someone raised a good point that men apparently have less cones and more rods in their eyes than women, it's a scientific fact
papermint tiger
and that means they do see less colors
papermint tiger
...but i still think they mostly don't care
I mean there are plenty of artists who are male and good with color and nuance

It's a cultural. "Caring" about color is connected to traditionally feminine "fru fru" hobbies like decorating and art and design, so it's considered unmanly to care about colors.
papermint tiger
when i say 'men' i mean your average joe who doesn't work with colors
