Vaska Playthrough

Cyclic
So for those interested, here is a video playthrough of the game demo me and my team made for our final module -

I'm sorting out a landing page for a download, but I'll be honest - it's not optimised so it will only run if you have a GTX 1080 or around that.

Where are you studying? I start next Monday, just going through all of the reading material this week

Cyclic
I just finished a 2 Year Fast Track BA Hons in VG Art at Birmingham City, starting my MSc VG Enterprise Production & Design in 3 weeks.

Cyclic
Same uni for the masters

Cyclic
FWIW I am so glad I got into this industry when I did, went to uni when I did, because I've never felt so happy in my life.

isle
That was great!! And the credits! Seeing your own name there must have felt pretty amazing. From when you decided to go to school and to now, this is awesome, I am so happy for you.

Cyclic
I really should update the credits with the final imagery and repackage the build. I might do that when I start back in uni again. Make use of the computers. Heck, I could probably do that this week, I can still get to my work computer in the studio

isle
I can't WAIT to see how you move ahead and grow further.

Cyclic
I'm going to be a producer day to day, but do consulting as an inclusion specialist, designing games and ui systems that help people play games the way that works for them, my tutors have contacts in industry with accessibility and all that, it's going to be amazing. Trail blazing in fact.

isle
that all sounds so fucking amazing.

Cyclic
There are like maybe a handful of inclusion/accessibility specialist consultants in the UK, a handful more who work exclusively at one studio, so it's big money, fulfilling work and I'm good at it, who knew!

Cyclic
I'm so glad to have you guys along with me though, you've been with me as I went through the gauntlet and came through <3

I did a BA in games design like 10 years ago but the course was a mess and tech has advanced so much. I'm doing it a bit backwards tbh, I worked for Sony SCEE in the early 2000's, did my degree, never worked in gaming again. Now I think I'm just doing it because I can, I'm doing an HND in game dev

Cyclic
Yeah, the industry moves so fast, I'm school rep for NTI (the school my courses are in) and I get to help staff keep curriculum up to date with the different ways industry is improving/changing, and student feedback on how relevant things are, it's incredible how fast things move.

isle
I love so much how you have taken your vulnerability and your artistic talent AND your love of technology and rolled it all up in such a perfect way, you have such courage and drive. I am so very impressed and humbled by you.

Honey Bunny
Cyclic
: right? my BA is pretty much obsolete

Honey Bunny
: It's why I went to BCU, cause squashing 3 years into 2 means less time wasted and I knew they'd be better for me in terms of being ASD/ADHD/Mental etc. BCU has higher than avg disabled students (avg is 10% and BCU has 11%)

Honey Bunny
Are you living in Brum, I used to live in Edgebaston and then Balsall Heath

Cyclic
Yeah, I live on campus being a cripple means I don't like to fuck with public transport often. Not actually as expensive as I thought it would be considering the astronomic prices of private landlords.

Honey Bunny
I miss it

Well done Hairy! So proud to see your name up there x

KitchenBuddy
Congrats, that is a terrific accomplishment!!
