[cw: forest fire, PTSD] A place I used to spend summers may be gone now.

Right now, it looks like everyone got out in time.

The place is called Kelly's Camp. It's in Glacier National Park which is currently on fire.
ᴄᴀʟᴀᴍɪᴛʏ ᴊᴏ
Some reports say only one building is left of the camp.

I feel kinda down about it. It's one of those rare places from my childhood with good memories.
ᴄᴀʟᴀᴍɪᴛʏ ᴊᴏ
I'm just waiting to see if they get the fire under control.
ᴄᴀʟᴀᴍɪᴛʏ ᴊᴏ
I get the feeling I'm probably gonna cry about this soon.
ᴄᴀʟᴀᴍɪᴛʏ ᴊᴏ
It feels silly but I know why I'm upset.

I was this little traumatized kid and my mom and grandma took me somewhere I could be a kid again.

every summer for 9 years.

We'd go to Billie's cabin. Little old log cabin with gas lights and a freaking gas powered fridge
ᴄᴀʟᴀᴍɪᴛʏ ᴊᴏ
y'know... it was the one thing I looked forward to during the school year.
ᴄᴀʟᴀᴍɪᴛʏ ᴊᴏ
It was my safe space.
ᴄᴀʟᴀᴍɪᴛʏ ᴊᴏ
I'm sad that it's gone.
ᴄᴀʟᴀᴍɪᴛʏ ᴊᴏ
I'm glad I don't need it anymore but I'm sad.

That's a completely reasonable thing to be sad about.
