Look, the Android Pie logo looks like the former Plurk P. Maybe that's why they changed it.

I guess they didn't want to have a battle with Google.

Or they asked google "but this is our logo" and google said "oh shut up, here some money, change it"

I remember a few years back that some company in China (affiliated with Microsoft) had copied the whole way Plurk work. After a round of complaints and some posturing Plurk won and the others changed their way of working. So I am not sure Plurk was likely to give in.
