FOUND UR PROBLEM
Platinum
For our first characters, to figure out the system, we're allowed to pick our own powersets.
Platinum
(Under Heroes Unlimited, you're supposed to roll for your origin. That affects[effects?] what powers you have access to. Everything is random, you don't pick anything.)
Platinum
(So it was nice to let us build our heroes the way we wanted.)
Platinum
So I roll for origin, education levels, resources, etc., then look at everything and make a speedster.
Platinum
Basically a knockoff of Jay Garrick, but female because the group was all dudes and I felt like it needed something to keep from being a bunch of he-men saving the world.
Platinum
Anyhow, things go down, and it turns out that, under the rules of Heroes Unlimited, I can do a ton of damage by being a speedster. Just by, say, tackling someone.
Platinum
And then it turns out that I go just fast enough to break the sound barrier, which the GM rules means sonic booms. And I can instantly go from 0 to mach speed.
Platinum
(Unfortunately, I get a lot of creepy GM NPC flirting.)
Platinum
(Text based games.)
Platinum
Anyhow, so. Uh. At one point, I just hit a door and knock it down, and kill every villain NPC in the room behind me. Then KO everyone else in the room before the party has a chance to step in.
Platinum
Because speedster
Platinum
And then they try to catch her in another warehouse and she gibs everyone and explodes the warehouse by creating about seven sonic booms one after the other. At this point the GM informs the party that speedsters won't be allowed again if my character ever dies.
Platinum
(I'd probably pull my punches if this were a Silver or Modern Era Campaign)
Platinum
(But this was the Golden Age and that meant https://imgs.plurk.com/QuW/FvS/hwnSfvYoPYeESzM6UvPI3C5Czjz_lg.png )
Platinum
(Especially when you kidnap kids.)
Platinum
anyhow
Platinum
So first he starts to get a little creepy
Platinum
And talking about how he believes that Michael Moorcock's Eternal Champion stuff is real.
Platinum
And that we all share souls with our characters and they'd never do anything we wouldn't.
Platinum
Then he started introducing some weird stuff into the campaign that I won't go into
Platinum
And then he started throwing the literal SCP at us
Platinum
And using things that've 'escaped containment' as challenges
Platinum
Including things that healed so fast they were effectively immune to damage and could perfectly hit you no matter what.
Platinum
And I just kinda ditched the campaign after a combination of that and him biting another player's head off for not having system mastery after four weeks.
