Did you ever have to pay for SL? I can't remember but vaguely thought that there was a fee at a time. Maybe I am mixing it with premium

: Not when I first joined: I came in just around when they started "free accounts" I did have to put payment info on file, though.

I still ended up going paid pretty early, in order to help pay for the family's land

Found out it was March 2004, there was a free 7 day trial but a CC had to be used and it was $10
