Today’s class: Sidewalk Repair 101.
KitchenBuddy
You didn't put your initials in the wet concrete?
mimi
KitchenBuddy : Not yet!
SteveBob
(woot)
Swamp Daddy
We do that a lot here. The heavy equipment moving across it damaged it. Can't turn over a new home with damaged sidewalks.
🐾Cindy🐾
I hope some critters leave footprints :-)) "someone" should put the date in the corner (woot) ;-)
mimi
SteveBob : Fun to watch!
mimi
Swamp Daddy : I'll bet you know every detail of the process.
mimi
🐾Cindy🐾 : "Someone" just might do that!
Άτροπος
That really is begging for a little imprint or two.
mimi
Άτροπος It’s already too hard. :-(
Lemongrass
baby footprints are cool.
mimi
Lemongrass Always!
KDFrawg 🐸
I refuse to have a baby just to be cool.
Lemongrass
(LOL) good instinct!
Indikon
KDFrawg 🐸 If you had a baby, it would be surprising as well as cool.
mimi
KDFrawg 🐸 : You would be a miracle!
20SoCalDude25
time to put in something like "Mimi was here!"
heylisa
Someone should plant a star and a pair of handprints. :-P
KDFrawg 🐸
Indikon I would certainly be surprised.
KDFrawg 🐸
mimi I don't get involved in miracles.
Annie
It's good to have done. We're getting ours done this month as well. (LOL)
KDFrawg 🐸
We don't have an inch of sidewalk.
Fly Fisher
I’m sorry you didn’t get to press your palms into the Mimi Walk of Fame.
mimi
Annie : It must be the season!
mimi
KDFrawg 🐸 : That can be a good thing.
mimi
Fly Fisher : The grand girl did make an A, so we got that much done!
KDFrawg 🐸
mimi : Yes, it surely can.
mimi
KDFrawg 🐸 : I lived out in the country for about 5 years. No sidewalks and little traffic.
Fly Fisher
mimi an A is good!!
KDFrawg 🐸
That's us. I like it that way.
mimi
mimi
KDFrawg 🐸 : It's a good choice.
KDFrawg 🐸
I've gotten so I like it out here.
mimi
KDFrawg 🐸 : One has to experience it to understand...
KDFrawg 🐸
Yes. It is SO quiet out here. And Dark.
mimi
KDFrawg 🐸 : Amazing, huh?
KDFrawg 🐸
Yes. Yes, it is.
mimi
Town is close enough when it's needed...
KDFrawg 🐸
< smile > yep.
mimi
So the balance is good.
KDFrawg 🐸
Yep. I gave up on towns when I quit being able to walk around them.
mimi
< sigh > I gave up on big cities after living in the country.
KDFrawg 🐸
< smile > Good decision.
mimi
Small towns are a decent compromise.
KDFrawg 🐸
Our nearby small town has 200 people in it. :-)
Indikon
I’d like a village as a compromise, but in villages that are anywhere near a town all the shops and pubs have closed, so you have to drive into town for everything. When it’s like that, the village has no advantage over being isolated.
Dira
:-D
KDFrawg 🐸
We are about a half-hour by car from any meaningful civilization, even though we are only 50 miles from Philly and 75 miles from New York City. Works for me. :-)
mimi
KDFrawg 🐸 : 200 is quite small! And your central location has some advantages.
mimi
Indikon : That is a problem. No good compromise.
Dira
(tongue) (dance) (music_okok)
Indikon
mimi : It improves a little if you’re further from a big town.
KDFrawg 🐸
Our closest town is just 10 minutes, but there isn't much there. Next closest is 20 minutes, and there a lot there. Bu the nearest real grocery is a half hour.
mimi
Indikon : Sounds like you have done your homework...
Dira
:-D
Indikon
We’re looking at where to go when Mr I doesn’t need to travel to London regularly.
Dira
(music)
mimi
Indikon : Good to plan ahead...
Lemongrass
our village is 6 or 7 miles from two towns, but has two pubs, a village shop, a butcher, a church and a motor engineer. We are very pleased. Also a nice village hall. There are a couple of fish and chip vans, an artisan baker's van (weekly) and a mobile post office that call.
KDFrawg 🐸
Sounds like the best of all worlds...
Lemongrass
we are very lucky. It's taken a lot of effort of some people to get the village shop going after the previous one was turned into a house.
KDFrawg 🐸
I love it when things like that work out.
mimi
Lemongrass That sounds like a most perfect spot!
Dira
:-o
