I actually made one of these on Wednesday and it’s been literal years since I had one but tomatoes is always a must for me. I usually cook the tomato separately then scoop it up and put it inside

seconding garlic butter instead of regular butter. and yeah, after a certain point of added ingredients, it ceases to be a grilled cheese and becomes a grilled sandwich instead. but man, anything that goes well with cheese and bread can be put on for a delicious sandwich. XD
