[Red Sparrow] I liked this movie, though I can see why some people thought it was a hard movie to watch.

I don't think it was revolutionary or anything, and it wasn't an action movie. I just like spy movies.

There is the requisite 'sexual assault of the female character'.

I want to say 'because this is what America thinks of Russia'

It was a brutal movie though, but not in that way. Just a lot of people died. And torture. Not a kind movie, but I'm not really bothered by those things so it actual just made my head tilt.

In a 'So is she a double agent? Taking an opportunity?'

The first things that happened to her she felt like the victim of circumstance, but after that she was pretty much 'I will do what I need to survive and I will kill you if you get in my way'

Not a fan of the assault

No, I'm sure a lot of people would be totally turned off by that and it happens pretty early in the movie.

I'd like to see the day when superspies can be women without having assault in the background >.<

Me too. Since I guess we'll always need spy movies
