boodle boy
[job stuff/ADHD] As this job changes, it shifts more and more into territory of something I dont think I can do
boodle boy
Not for lack of trying, bit just....i picked this job because it played to my strengths
boodle boy
But its switching more to a more paperwork, detail driven thing
boodle boy
with the consequences of making minor detail mistakes getting greater
boodle boy
And im just not good at that stuff and you cant make yourself br good at it
boodle boy
for the second time yesterday i missed a whole SLEW of price changes despite
boodle boy
doing my damnedest to check and recheck and go really slowly with them
boodle boy
And i still just. missed a bunch
boodle boy
IM VERY, VERY GOOD A BIG PICTURE THINGS IN MY JOBS
boodle boy
im very, very bad at repetitive minutiae
boodle boy
And I can't think of any way I could have done bettet than what i did...besides staying even later when i was already working over the clock
boodle boy
Which is both, not feasible and straight up not allowed
boodle boy
This job is becoming increasingly checklist work, lots of minutae that have to be done and signed in very specific, regimented ways
boodle boy
and the forgiveness for, missing a sign off on something or forgetting a price tag when youve looked through 500+ of them has become a lot....less
boodle boy
Which is fair
boodle boy
Its efficient.
boodle boy
and most people will have no problem doing it
boodle boy
i just am frustrated
boodle boy
i dont like being less than great at my job
boodle boy
and i feel like its only a matter of time before i get fired fpr something like that
Peil Wiggler
god... these changes are such horseshit
Hall Decker
im sorry dude
four eels
dude fuck the minutiae shit I don't even have ADHD and that stuff fucks me up sometimes
four eels
when my job added a ton of checklists there were a lot of complaints for the reasons you listed from everyone
