[jazzhands] I'm tired of hearing about how ace folks can't be a part of the LGBTQ community because we don't face enough discrimination

1. That's a really fucking stupid criteria by which to measure who is/isn't allowed to be a part of our communuity

2. We face PLENTY of it, just not on a legal level because folks generally don't even believe we exist (though also sometimes on a legal level because gasp some of us date members of our own sex and would like to marry them eventually)

none of the reproductive ones make any fucking sense

well the people making any of these arguments are fucking idiots so that checks

like hell the whole gay uncle hypothesis talks about how having extended family members who weren't bearing the biological load of having the kids helped the family as a whole

My fav is when folks in my community make these arguments because like...........................

like unless omegaverse happens irl i dont really think the gays gonna be contributing to the world's babycount either so...shut up? :/

2. y'all know how babies are made right, there are PLENTY of couples in the LGBTQ community that can't reproduce naturally

ngl i'd like to see it because i think the second men had to experience hormonal cycles and childbirth we'd have so much more stuff to help but that is a different plurk

yeah it's totally why i dont advertise my status IRL

I mean obviously if you did there would be zero problems with it

its not like whether you ID as queer or straight that folks on both side of the fence are going to insist you don't belong and possibly also don't really exist

it's not like i've been called "a magic fucking unicorn" sarcastically or anything

the one that infuriates me the most is the "why do you need labels we're all human" folks

"We're all human, who needs labels??" -Someone with socially accepted labels
