why wouldn't you just play Hustle Cat at this point

DDLC was free, so it may not be the best indicator

(something about the dev thinking selling it when everything it's presented as doesn't really jam with what it actually is being dishonest)

also honestly moa just really liked birds

and also the non-bird photo artwork didn't look like shit

DDLC's art was also basically fine?

it wasn't Great but it didn't stand out as ugly

yeah, I suppose in my frustrated and sleep-deprived state I both worded that weird and sounded snippier than I intended

It was more an observation that more and more, otome games/dating sims have taken that turn all things do to the "now that we know this framework by heart, let's do it for the least fitting things imaginable"
