The worst thing in the universe to-date: Amazon Shopping accounts are linked to Amazon Web Services accounts by e-mail address. They cannot be un-linked. This linking happens automatically and without mention (or without much mention) when you sign up for AWS. So the company can't transfer ownership of servers without also transferring shopping, Prime, etc.

Truly a daft move from Amazon. But also a bonus if you feel like charging for a few extra days to put everything in their new account for them
