Resent another e-mail, still no answer. In the meantime they're active on their social medias.

at least hey paid half upfront but still, they've been asses since the very beginning

they seem to be working with other watercolor artists, I wonder if they've been treated the same, they also pretend they make the art which is rather shady

I'm tempted to call them out on their instagram/facebook but my messages will probably get deleted

scrolling through their instagram now I just find out they use watercolor photo filters on animal pictures and claim they're work in progress

I'm finally understanding why they weren't satisfied with my illustrations, the style I worked in was too different to what they've been posting on their instagram so they couldn't claim my work as their own

Maybe this protected you from getting ripped off even more.

even more interesting fact, on their website they sell "custom watercolor art from photography" which are 100% photo filter and not even real art, for 150$ each

while they couldn't even pay me 300$ for 10 original illustrations of mine

call them out so that other folks don't get fooled, or even better, let Plurkers call them out

Btw. did you/they sign a contract? Maybe you should do that like photographers/photo models do it, where you agree about what and how long and for which media etc.

Tillie : I had a contact yes, I'm considering breaking it and doing something else with the illustrations, I'm not comfortable with these people using them now I found out about their shady activities

Santa Bunny : I'm pondering it rn, they have my address and can do a paypal claim to get their money back if I piss them of so I'm not sure I want to get into that, I contacted some of the original photographers they're stealing pictures from though

The weird thing is, they reached out to you after seeing your work, right? Wouldn't they pick you based on your style? So why do they not like the style all of a sudden?

Kaztastrophe : well, for their defense, they contacted me because they liked my watercolor llamas I did few years ago, and my style evolved a bit since then BUT since I showed them so many process pictures they were happy with, they just had no excuse to tell me they didn't like things once I was done

yeah that's frustrating as hell

like they saw these and validated them several times saying "yes gorgeous !!"

then when I'm done and send this out : "too cartoony" where's the logic

anyways they're ignoring my emails now so...

it's easy. They wanted you to leave them unfinished so that they could claim that they were working on them.
