Just heard back from the editor: this month's submissions are going into next year's quarterly issues, and he's already read mine on sight...

And he's already shortlisted it.

No guarantee it'll go to press, but still, that's a good vote of confidence.

I also messaged a publisher in Maine that I've worked with, who's looking for Yuletide spooky stories, if she'd be interested in my Christmas story featuring Herbert West (a story that I've based off a legend of St. Nicholas in which good St. Nick raised three dead kids back to life).

Yes, that legend is a thing. And during that weird spell I had last August when I had a dozen Herbert West stories come to mind, that was one of them.

Well! She's all for it and wants to see it soon.
