[Garden] Tiny eggplant! And I found a swallowtail caterpillar on my parsley.

Cute motherfucker but I moved him to the wild area on the side of the house. I like my parsley.

Also I'm not sure if the eggplant is supposed to be that tiny or if it's just sad... I've had a hell of a time growing eggplants for some reason. That's the only one that we've gotten and my first planting just died.

I've had trouble with peppers, eggplants, & cabbage over the years. Randomly finicky? that one is adorable!

My peppers were awful last year but I spaced them further and fed them more and they did well this year!

Just general fertilizer? Tbh I usually mix worm castings/ black gold in at planting & then just water but I can experiment

Benedict : Yeah, the nightshades in general are heavy feeders so they need more throughout the season. I just use miracle grow tbh. I don't like pesticides but I have no beef with chemical fertilizers.

They like a lot of calcium, especially tomatoes. You can crush up egg shells or just make sure you get a fertilizer/mulch that has calcium in it.
