finally got a couple of hydrangea flower heads which are somewhat more convincingly mauve-blue.

but it's right at the end of the season when most of the others (on the same plant) are giving up and fading to beige brown.

meanwhile, many of the snapdragons are still going snap.

Flagon is a little louder than the other snap dragons but probably very decorative.

a "garden" full of Flagon's relatives, clustered around towering spikes and intermittently snapping and roaring, would be very impressive. Definitely something for a castle building todo list - and a bit more active than gargoyles.
