So I got to bed late because I had to finish my book. My fitbit says I fell asleep about 2:30am, which is about right.

My cat began bouncing on me - like literally, he dives across the room, bounces on me like I'm a trampoline and runs off around the room to come do it again - about 5 am.

I grumble, but ignore. Then he starts crying and crying until I was legitimately worried something was wrong and got up to check. He wanted me to pet him by the litterbox (he loves this, no idea why), and cries and cries when I get back in bed. I coax him onto the bed and pet him while trying to determine, in my half awake state, if something is really wrong

He even lets me wrap myself around him, which he almost never does. Finally he hops off the bed and goes to lie down by and state at his litterbox. I try to go back to sleep since he has stopped crying.

Then he kills in the litterbox and scratches like crazy - he has distinctly different 'about to pee' and 'about to poop' scratching, the latter being a bit like attempting to dig to China. So, pooping.

And I think maybe it's some tummy upset and he has diarrhea or something, so I go get the stuff to scoop and no, all is well, and he settles happily on the end of the bed to clean and doze off.

Was his tummy a little tender before he pooped? Did he want company? Did he want to make sure I was up and awake and ready to scoop put the litterbox immediately? Did he just think that two and a half hours was plenty of time for me to sleep and I should get up?

No one knows except him, and he's not saying.

I did, in desperation, even check to see if we might have had a small earthquake that he was responding to. (No.) And I checked to see if my roommate had perhaps randomly come home. (Also no.)

Of course, though I tried and did manage to maybe doze a little, I did not sleep.

Good thing I love my Jeremiah boy.

I hear you. Henry's been waking me up stupid early as well.

The other day it was about 2hrs

The cat bouncing is rather startling, but he's been doing it since he was a kitten. I can him my parkour kitty, because he has a whole kitty course he does where he bounces off things and leaps over others, leaps onto the cat tree, then up to hand on the window before jumping down, dashing across the room, jumping over the litterbox and into the closet, then

spinning around to stare out the closet door before beginning his cycle again. I wish I could get a video of it because it's hysterical.

Anyway, I am mostly used to the being bounced on but it is still enough to wake me straight up in shock.
