Dreaming about "what if" for electric cars!

What if what?

I got so buried in my daily slog that I had forgot to play "what if" and dreaming about a better future like I used to do. I was spinning thoughts and dreams about what the world might be like if we had electric cars, and dirigables.

A light footprint green techno-hippie future

I got inspired because a firm just deployed their first carbon scrubber plant that takes the carbon out of the air and makes fertilizer out of it.

But coul also make carbon fiber, or other things.

750,000 of these things (size of a cargo container) and we could remove 1% of the carbon in the air per year.

If deployed and running like mad, we could clean up our mess in a matter of decades.

Knowing humans, we'd overshoot and possibly risk cooling.

But it made me start to dream optimistic things again.

I've been thinking about 'lectric cars, especially since I'll be commuting semi-regularly via freeways (even with traffic, my commute via mass transit is literally twice as long as with a car).

Some friends on FB have been buying off-lease Nissan Leafs for not very much money as commute cars. They get 50-95 miles of range.

Depending up on the state of the battery.

I have learned that Fiat 500es have really low lease rates here in Cali. Must investigate.

Also consider an off-lease Nissan Leaf. I heard they could go for about $10-11k
