So the puffs between the quilting, are they folded? Or just wrinkly? I can't tell without my reading glasses on.

camelama : No. those are the unquilted areas where the batting can remain a little puffier. Batting and fabric shrink at different rates, so the wrinkly look is part of what weavers call "wet finishing"

DPUTiger : yes, I know that, i just mean i cannot see well enough to tell if it's that or actual folding, which i saw today in an 1800s quilt elsewhere.
