[RL] On of the nice things about the kids playing the inline hockey is that the teams are co-ed

Which means not only do my niece and nephew get to play on the same team...

But it's nice that they experience a sport like that and that the best players are a great mixture of girls and boys.

Like, thinking of the top players on each team this season? The first three I think of are all girls

One our team there's a girl who is #17 who is great at running it up and taking shots. The team we played against had a girl who was #20 who was the same, great at taking it and getting it up

On the top team this season there's a 7 year old girl who is probably one of the top players in all the teams. And she's probably one of the youngest, too lol

I never talk about the gender stuff in sports with the kids, but it's nice to just say, "Oh, she's a really good player" "He's a good player" "He does really good at this" "She takes great shots"

And it's just such a great mix

Where I don't think the kids would have any reason to consider another player's gender at all
