Rachele Gilmore is the coloratura in our Ravel performance (the first one of which went great tonight, btw)

on the ride back one of my choralemates had me listen to her Met debut in Tales of Hoffman

she was the understudy, tapped 4 hours before the performance to go on

and she fuckin destroys it

she sings the A-flat above high C
for non-singers among you that is really fucking high

tl;dr I gotta learn german so I can get into the opera chorus so I can be onstage to listen to amazing singers
