[Politics] Well, at least America made the right choice. France will next time after they get burned this time, America was just ahead of them, since we made the stupid choice last time.

I doubt the people who say there won't be a France

America survived Obama for eight years, France will survive Macron for a few.

Still, I'm a little sad that they're going to suffer so much

and a little amused that apparently the French are super sexist since they dared not to elect the first female president

but also not surprised overall

The EC saved America by avoiding rigging and preventing morons in heavily packed cities from deciding for the whole country. I believe France uses NPV

which makes rigging super easy and does nothing to keep heavily populated areas from talking over the rest of their country

so the results are kind of expected.

Still, one can hope they will overcome next time

Someone made an interesting suggestion. Watching France may be a window into how the US would spiral under Hillary

(so far we haven't had any of the riots and anarchy that happened when Trump won. those happened yesterday, when it looked like Le Pen might.)

(But let's wait and see. Who knows. Maybe the scary right side will become the left side if they lose. If not for the horrible deaths it will be pretty interesting)

And I mean the stupid choice was Obama over Paul, not Obama over random (R) candidate.

In 2008 it was no surprise people voted for Obama, he was the Dem Trump, promising change and hope all campaign

by 2012 though it was clear he wasn't doing anything, and Ron was the one who was promising radical change

and then people made the stupid choice and went with Romney and Obama instead. Leading to Trump this time.
