to take it out of the martial realm: you can't win against Ardyn because he's made of Xanatos Gambit, you can very easily win against Chloe because she gets angry and huffy and stomps off, you can win against Clark but you'd better be damn sure of your points, and Alan is similar though he'll bow to sentiment more often

Randel never wins because unless you're literally evil as shit, he's not actually fighting you and if he does have to fight you, he loses because he feels terrible about it after.

Scott always both loses and wins because when he wins he loses because he usually is more than a little gruff about it and when he loses it's usually something he can handle as a win-in-the-making or at least has to view that way to keep sane.

Cass doesn't lose. Ever. Except kiss fights which is Steph's fault and doesn't count BUT OTHERWISE she doesn't lose. Ever.
