A small rant about USPS, because while I'm not incensed, I am aggravated and relatively inconvenienced.

I wanted to put irritated but I thought that would be far too much alliteration lmao

anyway

So I'm sure a whined about the fact that for nearly a month, I wasn't getting mail, by mistake of my mom and the new post office we're using being just. not very helpful

Mom told me there was a package, and I was like "oh, cool! Maybe it's the big Perler package that I've been waiting on that got sent back and forth like a freaking yoyo!"

...Mom forgot to leave me the slip. :') Rather than be mad, I decided hey! I'm on the post box now, I have ID and proof of mail I've received. Maybe not a utility, but definitely my new insurance cards!

I go in

And the lady gives me flack for not having the slip. Ok fine? I'm on the box though so I show her my ID and just request that she sees if the package is for me

She flicks my ID onto the scale like I'm inconveniencing her, ofc

Then comes back with a package for my stepfather, saying it's not mine, my name isn't on it and I'm like MMMMMM OK welp.

If I am able to take it for my parents, who both leave work long after the post office closes, that'd be great

"well if you had a KEY or something"

basically her answer to anything I had to say

And I told her it's fine, I'll have my parents pick it up on Saturday

Because that's the only day where they can possibly make it up to the post office

None of this would bother me if she wasn't so officious with me

Like she thinks I'm a lying liar with lie-Ds instead of IDs

And if she didn't make it seem like I'm wasting her time like ok come on that was cute when I wasn't on the po box despite having a change of address. It was less cute due to the fact that a 60$ package was sent back to the distributor but i mean. what can i do? I called the distributor and they rushed me out a new one so I'm pleased, just waiting

I'm just super salty about the USPS

Especially considering that I still have about 5 pieces of mail I got to send out which I'm always NOTORIOUSLY SLOW WITH because USPS is expensive anyway

So I never sent the stuff I had to send to all my friends and I already feel mad guilty because it's not as if I'm using them. I'm just. Unable to send the things.

Mom says she's going to "straighten those ladies out" and get my full access because she thinks its stupid too

and she mentioned getting me a key as well which. nice of her. but shouldn't be necessary...

we've existed for my whole life in a co-opted PO Box. Only upon switching to a closer post office have we had problems
