What kind of yarn do you use?
Val
Okay so total noob question: how do you get from doing the normal stitch to doing something like that? I'm working on a scarf because it's basically the only logic I can figure out at this point

no mortal blade : This one was called Homestead Tweed, made by Plymouth

Pattern is the Killarney Cabled Set

Ty ty. The one I'm using is getting really pilly while I knit, I can't tell yet if it's me or the yarn xp
LiberBEARian
Val : So this one is weird but basically it involves you stopping in the middle of the row, pulling a few stitches onto a holder (either another needle or a cable stitch holder, knitting the next few stitches, then taking those previous stitches and knitting them next
LiberBEARian
So that you're basically leapfrogging/knitting stitches out of order
LiberBEARian
Nah, I get pills too
Val
Huh, okay. I guess I still have some ways to go before I get to that point
coochie scarf
it's a lot less difficult than it sounds. what i like to do when trying out a new technique is to just knit a swatch of it
coochie scarf
it doesn't have to be useful for anything, and i don't have to keep it once i made it--i can always frog it and use the yard for something else.
Val
that sounds like a good plan
coochie scarf
technically you could even put the paused stitches on a big baby pin or something.
