like i am 100% sure that it's just because they were referencing the same character archetype. god, the baz lurhmann influence might be relevent here, there's a side character in Moulin Rouge who basically wears Fourth Doctor clothes as a reference to 4 as a French bohemian...

also, Noct's design is growing on me. In particular, I'm realising I really like his nose, which is kind of large for an FF prettyboy and I find it charming
