I enjoyed the night out but to be honest, while the steak was good, I've actually had better. The Ruth's Chris overpriced menu is obscene; I don't believe I'll dine there again anytime soon.

While such places are nice and the food quite good, the prices really are ridiculous.

: I admit to sticker shock.

Yeah. I took a peek at an online dinner menu. $115 for a tomahawk ribeye entrée! While I'm sure it's great and way too much for me to finish (40 oz), that shocked me too. Even going light, it's hard to keep it under $50-$60, after tip.

Of the chain steakhouses I've been to — they're not my first choice when eating out — I think I've liked Ruth Chris the best. I was surprised I liked the butter sauce, but yum. But it is definitely pricey, expecially when you add appetizer, sides, wine and dessert.

Did you finally go to Texas de Brazil?

: we are going sunday evening

i've never been to Ruth Chris. I think John took the boys there one time.

Been to a Ruth's Chris once and a couple Morton's. I really did enjoy all three but it's easier to do so when someone else foots the bill.
Hilda
I preferred RC to Morton's and to Fleming's. What makes that type of steakhouse more expensive is that the steaks are usually stand alone and all the sides arye extra.

I like rodizio-style but you have to pace yourself. Eat slowly and don't overdo at the "salad" bar. I put it in quotes they habe much more than just salads. Also, if you like lime drinks (margaritas, daiquiris, etc.) I recommend you try a Caipirinha, it's Brazil's national drink and is made with lime, sugar, and a Brazilian-style rum called Cachaça.

: I just had the small bar steak sammies at the Morton's in Scottsdale but had a full meal at the original Chicago one at State and Rush. I wasn't disappointed in the least but I'm easy to please in most upscale restaurants.

: That's what I'm going to attempt. Besides, aside from a previous statement, I'm not going to eat salad. I plan on tackling the shrimp skewers. That drink sounds really wonderful too!
Hilda
Oh but definitely check out the salad bar, they have so much more than salad! Also if you like black beans I suggest you try a little bit of something called "feijoada" if they have it, it's like a black bean stew with meats and greens and stuff in there - one of my favorite things ever.

Hilda
: admits to not liking them at all but I love learning about the recipes.
