[Family, JCSS] So I'm home from visiting Mom and some other family. Pleasant day all round, especially with a belated gift that she gave me: she took the VHS tape of the performance of Jesus Christ Superstar I was in waaaaay back in the summer of 1992 and had it transferred to DVD. I've got it in the background as I type this.

Now the video quality is... well, it's pretty damn good for 25-year-old VHS transferred to DVD. And the sound is great. We all sound DAMNED good.

(^・ェ・^))ノ彡☆ and substituteskull, this is the same theater group I took you guys to see last year, but this production was on a much grander scale (and a bigger stage). And unlike that one, our Jesus had PIPES. :-)

(I think it's safe to say that neither of you would be disappointed in the least by Sean's "Gethsemane," let me tell you.) (music)

It was the summer of 1992, meaning I was only twenty when we did that show. It represented my first attempt at growing out a beard (coverage was... not quite complete in some areas), and my first time venturing out of Fleetwood to take part in community theater. It remains the best production I have ever been a part of.

(Turning into a sort of liveplurk here.) Names are coming back to me as I watch. There's Matt, the GM from my old gaming group, as Simon Zealotes. My fellow Apostles Bob and Sean and Rich and Erin and Dallas and Landon and others I'd have to dig up my program book to remember.

Sean Young, then a reporter for WGAL Channel 8 was our Jesus. The guy could SING. So could Mark, our Judas and our director. And Elizabeth, our Mary Magdalene.

This was a big part of my life before I went to Penn State. Where I met the guys who would go on to found Otakon. Where I met the people who I would LARP with - who I still LARP with. Amazing how fortunes can change...
