I think it's more on assisting the broom in forward motion.
Even if Mikazuki /Mighty No. 9 is able to move out of the stone's range the broom gradually lose altitude and hit the ground.

Anti-gravity tech? Seems a bit too advanced in their time. Maybe trapping Tinkerbell in a jar to keep the broom afloat might do the trick.

Rocket might do but the problem now is stopping and no idle levitation
