My MINI just failed smog check for the stupidest reason. :T

There are tiny cracks on the inside of the gas cap. I have to get a new one (direct from the dealer because there aren't aftermarket gas caps for MINIs) before I can have the test re-run.

a little butthurt lol.

At least the smog check guys were super nice about it. They said as soon as I get it replaced I can come back and get the test again for half price.

Ah, the dealership has the gas cap in stock, thank goodness. Only $30 plus tax, that's not too crazy.

Yeah, it's not nearly as bad as I feared! BMW parts are notoriously expensive.

Unfortunately I had to pay $50 for the test and probably $30 for the next test, on top of my DMV renewal, which is probably around $200.

Why are cars so expensive?
