eventually, I started to get annoyed, because sometimes if someone in the building has a really big or uneven load of laundry, it makes everything tremor just enough to kind of be felt

so this is going on for a while and it's annoying me... until I finally realize that Toki still hasn't moved from his sad spot on the edge of the bed and it's been like an hour or more

and I look over.... and can see his ears shaking

it wasn't the laundry machines. it was Toki's quivering making the mattress shake

he'd gotten stuck in the chihuahua loop of panic and was just off in his little doggy brain TOTALLY freaking out because of this door thing

so I was like "whoa dude hey"

and his head shot up!! and he looked at me!!

like he had totally forgotten that I was there, and he hadn't been weirdly abandoned or something

and so, looking terribly relieved, he runs over to me (like two feet away) to curl up and snuggle fiercely
