Question for those who make Kombucha, should I be alarmed over dark spots on my scoby?

dragon_harrower
not unless it starts turning fuzzy or the kombucha starts tasting off.

packyknits
Nope, no fuzz. I haven't tried it yet, just trying to get the scoby started. Thank you so much!

Amber
the dark spots are spent yeasts, very normal unless they are fuzzy like dragon said

dragon_harrower
then you're fine! That's normal.

packyknits
Thank you
Amber
. No fuzz here. This is my first Kombucha...very excited!

Sue
