[RL/Mute]: Today my grandmother offered to get me help. It's a good thing.

CONTEXT: I keep talking politics and I keep sounding distressed and unfortunately my grandmother is the only one who listens to the ramblings here so she ends up hearing it all

Today I started the conversation with what Trump wants to do in his first 100 days.

And she was basically like You are very passionate about this, and that's good. But I can't take much more and perhaps you need somewhere to vent so do you want me to get you a doctor of some kind

Which seems like we are going from point A to G in a hurry but

My family has been avidly against the idea that people can be mentally ill

That something like panic attacks or anxiety are things made up and you can will yourself out of them - if you are strong enough to do it and if you can't you're weak or not trying hard enough

And we've delved into the idea I might have depression (which I've been told is a confirmed yes by some doctors, but they also said I had eating disorders aaaand... welp, plurks for another time)

So this is very... ground breaking?

In a weird way?

it is, that's good! I'm glad they're finally acknowledging that maybe you need some help like that

Not sure if them figuring it out due to politics is good but hahaha oh well, I'll take it
