[lightning storm] So...my nephews were supposed to fly out Friday night, and didn't...because of this:

Slow-mo capture of some awesome lightning happening in Houston Friday night.

Had they not been traveling alone, they could have gone, but an almost-16yo, and almost-12yo flying alone with a possibility of having the plane diverted to another airport for the night would have been bad.

So yeah...airline wasn't going to be responsible for them even possibly being stuck in another city/airport all night, with no way to get a car, hotel, anything.

So they came out Saturday evening instead and have spent the last couple days with their dad's parents. We'll pick them up sometime tomorrow afternoon.

Pretty amazing, huh? They were saying as much as they wish they could have left Friday night, as planned, they were really glad they weren't up in the air in that.

I've never seen lightning go up

Looks like someone was trying to pull of some massive ritual and it all exploded. No telling if it was successful or not. XD;;
