I make it a general point not to judge others' interpretation of a Touhou character honestly. There are a lot of variables involved, and a lot of headcanon too, so the rule for me is so long as nothing directly

--conflicts with applicable canon, it's all good.

and of course there is HEAVY leeway for memes and other shenanigans.

the biggest thing is consistency. as long as whatever portrayal you go with remains consistent (barring actual character development), again, you're good!

the most important thing is: do YOU like the way you play the character? are they a good fit for you? are you having fun?

I happened upon Meiling by accident and things just clicked. I've played several other Toohoos and gone "eh I don't know what I'm doing" "on second thought I don't want this headcanon anymore" and such.

I used to overthink it but I don't anymore I have more fun that way.
