Gonna ask this here because I don't know where to start researching for myself- I stopped eating chicken and my anxiety level is like, way lowered.

lissydoll
Could that be a thing? keeping in mind I was eating Kroger brand boneless skinless breasts

lissydoll
like, literally every second or third meal

lissydoll
I don't know if there's any link to the hormones etc in factory farmed chicken and whatever the hell is making me anxious/irritable/etc

lissydoll
but I realized I had felt like a normal person for like a week

lissydoll
and it was a week where we only ate chicken once and it was like one breast shredded into something all four of us ate

lissydoll
So I kind of dropped it and it seems to be helping?

lissydoll
I'm still emotional as hell and can't read news stories or watch anything more serious than New Girl without crying

lissydoll
And my energy levels still suck

lissydoll
but I no longer want to kill everything

lissydoll
and I have the patience to potty train a puppy and a toddler and still make phone calls to insurance and stuff

lissydoll
I'm just like- is this a random hormone shift, is it the chicken thing, is it a placebo effect from the chicken thing?

Rowan
I've never heard of anything like that and off the top of my head it seems unlikely that anything would survive in cooked muscle

Rowan
It's not impossible though? I'm curious

lissydoll
yeah, part of me is like... no? but it's working? I mean, it's not like cooking is going to kill hormones like disease, right?

lissydoll
I guess I could start eating chicken again and see what happens

lissydoll
I'm just kind of terrified that I'll actually be crazy anxious again

Benedict
Vegetarian here, never heard anything about an anxiety link. I'd say give it another couple of weeks without chicken and if it continues to

Benedict
Be effective, bodies are strange and if it's working don't break it?

lissydoll
to be fair, I haven't like, been to a doctor or anything about this

lissydoll
I'm still half hoping all this hormonal uproar is from being on birth control- it's been long enough now that it shouldn't be, really

lissydoll
but I'm still giving it till may, when I will officially be a year out from going off the shot
