Jean: Welp. Jessica snapped Kilgrave's neck.
Me: ... HAH
MARVEL DON'T HAVE NO NO-KILL POLICIES
Jean: Yeah, and the whole Marvel universe won't turn its back on her for that.
Me: yeaah
kikibug13
Jean: /side-eyes Wonder Woman killing Max Lord's aftermath
me: ... SIGH
Shard
As a whole, most heroes would back not killing...but they also understand that sometimes, it has to happen.
Shard
I think the one that gets side-eyed mostly is Phoenix...but the Phoenix Force DID commit genocide a few times.
kikibug13
Yeah. I mean, for most heroes killing is a last resort? But sometimes...
kikibug13
(we're not talking Wildstorm here. Because we're not.)
Shard
There's also no hero with a no gun policy, I don't think.
MOVING
the thing is, in marvel comics at least, people don't stay dead
Shard
Even Cap will use a gun if necessary.
Shard
If there's anybody who needs to stay dead, though, it's Kilgrave.
Becca Stareyes
Shard : Yeah. From what I've read in interviews, the only reason Jean got to come back after the Dark Phoenix was because someone found a way to make her not morally culpable for genocide.
Math Mage
which that in of itself got sorta retconned too? the Phoenix confuses me.
Becca Stareyes
Yeah. I'm listening to Rachel and Miles X-Plain the X-Men, and it is insightful. (Basically it's like a book club for the history of the franchise, with two people willing to research all the retcons for you)
kikibug13
... I'll lie about Wildstorm current state because I don't follow MANY comics, too disappoint with most of the things that get done.
