I am getting benched. Roll off date from the project in 5 weeks.

Note: This does not mean I am without a job, I am just getting moved off this project.

I have mixed feelings. I have gotten very comfortable here, and that is both good and bad. I think shaking things up a little will do me good.

And it is a shorter commute, I will have time to focus on some training and a chance to learn new things. I have been feeling a little... stuck now.

I had a feeling this would happen.

I have so many things I want to focus on learning, certifications to take.

I have been on this project 23 (by the time I roll off) most projects are in the 3-9 month range.

Thank you. It should be alright, I am a lot more sellable now with two years under my belt so I don't think I will be benched for months on end. Also that will be expensive for the employer

Basically when I am banched I am not earning any money for them, but they still have to keep paying for me.

So it is in everyone's interest to get me back out on a project.

Maybe if we're lucky that will be when omnomivore moves here too. So I will have a shorter commute when she first gets here (about half an hour each way)

We can only hope. Still no news.
