People tend to come and go here. Is this platform fading out? What do you think?

One very weird thing is that some of the most active and involved posters who seem to be here every minute will all of a sudden disappear.

Most of the friends I had daily contact with have stopped plurking. Frankly, I don't see myself hanging around much longer either.

Yes that's so true. Of all the regulars I knew in the first year or so here, there is only one that I still see and that one usually is read only with no new plurks.

Maybe it is the Karma thing that both initially helps and then hurts in the long run... People get tired of the Karma and then freeze it. Those who freeze are soon gone.

I think people just get busy.

My plurkline certainly isn't fading out. I'm not in here every day, but it's always active.

I'm in FB daily for various reasons: Family, co-workers, potential book readers. But I need a place where I can drop my pretenses and say how I really feel. Plurk is my safe-zone.

Karma means nothing whatsoever. It's a contrivance meant to keep you active. Do you really need that?

I'm just wondering why so many people leave is all. I have no idea why. I like it here.

In order to maintain interest it seems to be necessary to continually find new friends from people you don't know at all. And It takes a bit to see who is or isn't on your wavelength.

People wander, it's a fact of online life. I've progressed from IRC to Usenet to Compuserve to Livejournal to strictly email only to Plurk to Facebook

And I'm sure my wanderings aren't over. To every time is a place.
