So, quick recap: the books were erroneously sent to my mother's house. She showed them to me on camera, and I could see that they had the glossy lamination on the covers.

So the guy apologizes and says he'll send an all new print run to me in Montreal, free of charge.

And the pages I needed to change were really important, so I can't use these at all... tossing 50 books into the trash is really depressing...

Maybe instead of tossing them you could sell them at a discount...? it'd be pure profit for you (except shipping I guess) since you didn't have to pay for these ones

well, when I thought it was just the covers that got messed up, I was totally cool with doing that. But now that it's the unadjusted pages, too... it's pretty bad

I gave him all the files in grayscale (which is what it said to do on his website), but the file was massive and kept making the printer crash - so he converted the whole thing to bitmap

which was fine for the Trust pages, but it ruined the extra sketches and the Comfort pages, which all actually need the grayscale

so we fixed all of that after seeing the proof, and I fixed a few screen tone problems as well

but this print run is the all-bitmap files, so the pages that need to be grayscale are really awful looking... like b&w photocopies of pencil drawings, you know? blech
