Paladins are not for the weak. They're very difficult to play because of their lawful alignment.

I played a paladin once - but he was half warlock. So, he was a paladin to an evil entity. VERY hard to play, even like that. Maybe one day I shall play a straight paladin.

His father was the latest of a line of warlocks devoted to this demon and was taking him to be devoted when he was five. The ritual got interrupted by a paladin who killed his father and then rescued the kid.
