people who pack stuff like conduit / search protect and other assorted browser hijacker things in their installers.... i don't like them....

....not one bit...

always super careful about such things, too. i was grabbing a viewer for CBR/CBZ (comic book) files. and made sure to do the custom install and select NOT to add any of the extra crap.

and it still loaded conduit and search protect and hijacked my browser to use some search engine who's name i forget now.

and right before i was going to bed. :V

able to get it all off, an hour or so later. but what a pain in the ass..

the program in question was cdisplayex which was always a legit viewer with no crap. but apparently the author died and some scummy assholes snapped it up and loaded it with garbage. :|

and you can't even get it in it's original form, anymore.

Man, that blows. :/
