Mags would be shorter, as kids of his generation where (by 20%) and he was canonly short for his age. So IF I did my math right (and google helped!) that means the avg height of his generation was 46.8 inches.
we keep being told that there is a reason that there are few girl sparks, but not what it is, and that she broke through so dangerously early that her uncle hobbled her mind to save her....
^ This, yep. And oh my god, I know I am not Mags, but can Steve play too? I'm going to kiddify him after the first week or so of bouncing around trying to help
:| Okay fine, Steve says. And then he uses his super strength to open a heavy chamber and hide inside. Because if they can't get to him then he clearly wins, right?
ON THE PLUS SIDE, SINTHIA! Actual!Nat-aged-12 was pre-invasion of USSR, and de-aged!Nat has Nat's memories. So it's allllll good as far as she's concerned
Theoirn: "Can you smell like kindred? because if not...." Wraps a sight and aural shield around himself and seems to just... vanish. Then floats over head height.
But if any of mine play and we're using that, none of mine will be too helpful. The blood speak common, a smattering of Eyrian, and I think the Queen knows a few terms of the Witch Tongue. Aggie would
know some terms in latin, but otherwise, english. Kaylin speaks Elantran (basically english/common), a few words in Dragon, Barrani, High Barrani, Aerian, Leontine....
mind, is whacky english of the future there. so. yeah, i tend to assume that there are accents involved with different languages, so things aren't totally flattened
I assume since they'll have adult memories they will still speak what they do - whatever common language it is - but I can see some who know other languages communicating in whispers
yeah, nat'll be speaking english unless she's decided to saunter over into russian. or french. or romanian. not that the last will help much, BUT SHE CAN.
Nat is: Russian (can switch accents between native Volga and more Moscow), German, French, Italian, English, Romanian, Hungarian, Arabic, Turkish. She has bits of Tatar still floating around, but mostly that
High and Low German, Polish, Yiddish, Ukrainian, Russian, Romanian, that Roma one I need to look back up, Hebrew, English, French, Brazilian Portuguese, some Spanish (muddied from South America), some Greek,
this is what happens when you thwart her going into academia and playing around with dead languages, and then train her as a spy. she's still pining over her post-grad studies, mind
Nat's pretty immersive in her language-skills - and can do the accent switch. But I so assume she has basic phrases in other things so she can move around
the german she was taught at school - just she was given a crash-course in practical thanks to WWII. Which is also where she picked up the Hungarian and Romanian. But, other than that, yeah. Spyyyyy
(well, the few bits of Tatar she remembers is because her father was a Volga Tatar, but that's more 'remember things from extended family' but she never really talked to them post-war, so she forgets most)
Sinthia at that point in life knows...German, English, French, Spanish and probably enough Italian to get by, but not a whole lot of extensive vocabulary.
Nat as an adult tries to tone down her....spy-ness. She has to be caught out. FORTUNATELY she and Mags are already due a convo re: her being able to fight back once he stopped treating her like baseline
And for the still curious, I've worked out that MCU Steve at least speaks fluent German and French in addition to English, and headcanon conversational Italian and Yiddish.
Ashen Key
This is what I figured! He would have picked up a few phrases, but then as he and Nat started working more closely together he would have taken more of an interest.
wow plurk way to die on me. AS I WAS SAYING... lmao I just have this mental image of Steve storming into HQ and cornering Nat all like "wow, that is NOT how you introduce yourself in Russian."
Steve pretty much speaks everything in an American accent, so regardless of the regional differences she might teach he's only going to be passable. XD
there may be a few languages from Earth that beat the translator just because Star Trek Earth went through a serious crapsack phase and some might've died out
he'll legit beg if he has to so long as no one is aroundyes there is going to be a tantrummaybe more than onehe makes no promisesIT'S NOT RUDE HE'S HIDINGhe wants to be aloneno he really doesn'thimyou in threads.fair waring she cheatshi, Bucky
