Here's another story that's going to become far too common as the Internet of Things becomes more of a consumer reality.

If a device connects to the Internet, then it likely has a password and it's just as likely that the password is already known to those that would abuse it. Check them and change them.

password management is a pain. on the upside, because I forget mine all the time, I do change them very frequently.

Oh, lovely.

For me, the trick was to create a password that I would always be able to remind myself of and then to think of a pattern of different tweaks I would remember. Sounds harder than it is, once you get used to it.

I've done it long enough that the pattern of recalling the password has helped me to remember unique passwords for sites I rarely go to.
