So, I baked a beautiful 8 lb ham for dinner. We saw some friends riding their bikes, we went out to say hi. We came back in to find the dog eating said ham in the middle of the kitchen floor.

When I was growing up, our friends had a dog that had... character. He was also an escape artist and would sometimes manage to break out of the back yard...

... Once he came home from an excursion carrying a fully cooked turkey (LOL)

(LOL) my old dog, rex, that I put to sleep in November was a wanderer. He brought me all sorts of gifts. He'd bring home pastrues/donuts/tortillas, and a boot, and a couple of full deer racks

when I was a yute, our cocker spaniel ate a ten pound bag of raw potatoes that was sitting in the pantry
Titter
I imagine those folks were sitting around wondering "wtf happened to our turkey?"
Lippmann
They probably blamed it on the neighbor and a feud started that continues on to this day

My labrador once ate two whole loafs of bread when she was a year old. I remember I had to walk her 1000 times that evening and all night, cos she had to poop all the time to get rid of it....gawd. Poor thing.

(she also ate the legs of a kitchen chair, several tea towels and the morning papers...)

We had a golden lab who brought all sorts home from the lake. He also would be breaking the ice in Feb to go swimming
