and also, being a paleontologist just sounds awesome and means I can study my ancient whales rather than the living ones and ancient anything and that's way better

captain : oddly, I don't care about the doctor bit as much. it's mostly the five year old in me that remembers seeing dinosaurs in the amnh that goes "I CAN STUDY THESE THINGS AND MAKE MONEY"
