So, I've been going back and playing games I used to play when I was a bit younger. Back when games didn't HAVE to be cinematic experiences or hours and hours long. And I'm having more fun. How about that?

Ghost in the Shell (aka Ladybug Simulator '98, which is what Ken thinks it is) is an excellent and underrated game for the PS1 that has absolutely no presence on the playstation store :/

I also started playing Tenchu, which is hilariously dubbed, and really difficult. Mostly because the draw distance in the game is terribly short, so you stumble on guards ...

kuwagatamushi
and you see them as soon as they see you, which is just terrible

kuwagatamushi
The controls just add to the difficulty. They're shit.

kuwagatamushi
and yet, the game was and still is considered good, simply because it was the first stealth game; I think MGS and Thief came out a few months later

kuwagatamushi
also played Syphon Filter, and I really think that game could've used a dual shock re-release; but I think that would've made the game pathetically easy

Tdiatre
Oh, I miss Tenchu. It's the reason why I bought an AC collection as soon as I got a PS3.

Tdiatre
Even then, my sister says it looks too easy compared to Tenchu.

Tdiatre
I need to finish Thief 1, but first person POV makes me nauseous after just an hour of playing.

kuwagatamushi
AC is pretty easy compared to Tenchu, mostly due to not needing to adhere to stealth, so yeah

kuwagatamushi
also, I've heard that adjusting FOV settings in first person games can help with people who have trouble playing those types of games

kuwagatamushi
though, that wasn't really a concept back when Thief came out, I'm pretty sure the new Thief has it, and I've heard that game is really enjoyable

kuwagatamushi
haven't installed the game yet though, and Dishonored is filling the need for 1st person stealth at the moment

Tdiatre
FOV? I ended up playing Thief 3 more because I'm allowed 3rd person POV for it. Yeah I was surprised that AC had a lot of emphasis on just plain brawling instead of pure stealth

kuwagatamushi
FOV is "field of vision." Widening the FOV came make a game feel less cramped, and helps a viewer adjust to the game more

kuwagatamushi
a good example of a game needing FOV settings is The Evil Within, even though it's third person
