Goldbug
So our campaign features a Half-Gnoll Paladin with a NEGATIVE Charisma bonus, and my Halfling Rogue with very low hit points and a negative strength modifier.
Goldbug
We have to climb a rough rock wall... easy enough, except my negative mods make any Athletics checks quite perilous, and a fall could kill me easily.
Goldbug
The idea? Let's tie the halfling to the half-gnoll! He's strong!
Goldbug
The GM asks: Who's tying the rope?
Goldbug
The half-gnoll points at the Tiefling Mage, and says, "He's good at tying knots." Now, earlier in the campaign, he tried to tie a knot, and rolled a 4. Luckily, nothing went wrong.
Goldbug
The half-gnoll rolls to persuade the Tiefling to handle the knot-tying, and rolls an 18... sounds like a good idea! The Tiefling rolls to tie me on...
Goldbug
natural 1.
Goldbug
Thankfully, I fall out of the harness before he even starts climbing.

LATER
Goldbug
We encounter a trap room filled with iron spheres... unfortunately, they can't be removed from the dungeon. They just disappear from our packs.
Goldbug
The three soldiery-types (one of which is the half-gnoll paladin) are heading back to their garrison, where they're confronted by the lieutenant, accusing them of going AWOL (which they did).
Goldbug
They profess that they everything's fine, they were doing some private enterprise, nobody's hurt.
Goldbug
The Half-Gnoll, who was SO looking forward to playing with his iron spheres (throw the ball! throw the ball!), mournfully says, "I lost my balls."
Goldbug
GM: "I thought you said nobody got hurt!"
